A message from our founder

Why Varundeep was started, and what we promise every child who joins us.

Dear parents and students,

Varundeep means “Varun’s lamp.” This school was founded in 2006 in loving memory of our son, Varun. We chose to remember him not with a monument, but with a school, a place where other children could grow into everything he did not get the chance to become.

A single small lamp, once lit, can light many others without losing any of its own light.

That is the idea behind the diya in our emblem. Every child who walks through our gate carries some of that light forward, and that is the only memorial Varun could ever need.

From the first day, our aim has been simple: give every child in our community a school where they are known by name. Our classes run from Pre-Nursery to Class 8, small enough that teachers notice when a child is struggling, and close enough to home that parents can be part of their child’s learning every step of the way.

We believe good schooling is not only about marks. We want our students to read with joy, speak with confidence, respect their elders and each other, and leave us ready for whatever comes next. Discipline, honesty and kindness matter to us as much as any exam.

To the parents who trust us with their children every morning: thank you. That trust is the oil that keeps this lamp burning. Our doors are always open. If you ever wish to talk about your child, please come and see me.

With warm regards and blessings,
